First Baptist Church in America

Worship

Today, the First Baptist Church in America continues its rich tradition of "soul liberty." It holds firmly to Roger Williams' founding principle of separation of church and state.

The First Baptist church in America is a dynamic, active congregation. Through its weekly Sunday service, music, Christian education, and fellowship, it reaches out to area college students as well as serving the needs of the community through membership in the Providence Intown Churches Association, South Providence Neighborhood Ministries and Crossroads of Rhode Island. The church is affiliated with the American Baptist Churches/USA and The American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island.

The First Baptist Church in America is open and welcoming to people who are seeking a richer faith and a deeper understanding of the Christian message.
